Lake Darling Restoration Project

The Lake Darling Restoration Plan has been finalized and can be downloaded in pdf format.

Darling is one of 35 priority lakes in line to receive DNR Lake Restoration Funding for in-lake improvement work.

Obtaining the Lake Restoration Funding requires that:

  • Pollutants (sediment, phosphorous, etc.) that impact water quality must be controlled;
  • Water must be clear (secchi of 4.5 feet half of the time between April 1 and September 30);
  • The beach must meet water quality standards for primary contact (swimming);
  • It must support a diverse, balanced, sustainable aquatic community (plants and animals);
  • Water quality benefits of restoration must be sustained for at least 50 years.
